Austin & Fowler Diaper Bag

I’ve been seriously crushin’ on the Austin & Fowler Diaper Bags for a while. I was drawn to them because they don’t look like your typical diaper bag and are super stylish! Since I don’t carry around a purse these days, my diaper bag is somewhat of an accessory. I want it to look good yet still be functional for life with two kids. The Austin and Fowler bags are just that and here is why I love them! #getreadytofallinlove

IMG_0606

Style: The bag is classy and will never go out of style. The design is sophisticated (think stripes and beautiful prints, not elephants and teddy bears). I don’t feel like I am carrying around a diaper bag, and anyone that sees me carrying around this beauty wouldn’t think it’s meant to hold diapers and sippy cups. It’s BEAUTIFUL and you feel good carrying the bag! The bags are actually designed by a Mom and you can tell. It’s thoughtfully designed and perfect for us Mom’s on the go!

IMG_0726

Detail: This detail is bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S! I love me some Gwen Stefani and you guys know I throw in some lyrics any chance I get… HA! Ok, back on track.  The bags have beautiful leather accents including leather bottoms with luggage feet making it durable. The leather pulls on the zippers of the removable pouches are embossed and labeled “diapers & wipes” “clothes & extras”, etc. The pulls are also removable so you can switch up the pouches to what works best for you… Hello!! How brilliant is that!?! I can’t. It’s little things like this that make me swoon.

IMG_0604

Comfort: It’s comfortable to carry! The top handle straps are adjustable so you can get just the right fit and the messenger strap allows you to carry this so many ways! I always appreciate longer straps when it comes to a Diaper Bag and the option to wear is cross-body. When I’m out with the kids, I need to have both hands free because they are usually running in opposite directions. Not everyone loves a backpack style bag, so this is the perfection option. Another plus is that it’s not heavy… I was expecting the bag to be heavy once it’s full but somehow it’s light-weight. Not sure what kind of sorcery is going on here but I’m digging it.

Durable: Because of the leather bottom and luggage feet, this bag is going to LAST YOU!!! I read about people complaining of their diaper bag falling apart after a few short months and this is not going to happen with the Austin & Fowler bags. This will work as your diaper bag and easily transition to your travel bag or tote when you are past the diaper bag stage. This is an investment piece that will stand the test of time so make sure to take care of it. This is not your average diaper bag, folks!

IMG_0605

Functional: You all know how much I LOVE staying organized. The interior of the bag has plenty of pockets and included removable pouches that help you stay as organized as you want! You have a place to put diapers, wipes, clothing, snacks, toys, etc. There is no guessing or digging through your bottomless pit of a bag to find what you needs. It’s all there in your pouches! The interior and pouches are in a bright color so everything is easy to find if you decide to forego the use of the pouches. I have the Blake bag with Fuchsia lining and it’s STUNNING!!!! In addition to the bottle pockets on the inside, the bag also features a zippered pock on the outside that is for all of your Mommy needs. I keep my wallet, cell phone, sunglasses, keys, lip gloss, etc. in the outside pocket for easy access to all of my goodies. I love that it’s separate from the kids necessities and easy to get to. Simply perfect!

IMG_0603

I could go on and on about these bags. I honestly could! I fell in love with them when I first saw their photos on Instagram and then fell hardcore when the Blake arrived on my doorstep. It felt and looked luxurious but still met all of my needs as a Mom. I’d be lying if I said I couldn’t wait until the kids are completely out of diapers and the sippy cup stage because I am ready for the bag to be all MINE. This would make the perfect work tote or weekender and adds a touch of style to my everyday Mom uniform. A.K.A leggings, t-shirt, messy bun. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Mom uniform, but my Austin & Fowler bag makes me feel a little more put together when I leave the house! I take all the extra help I can get. #messyhairdontcare

LulaRoe – because you NEED to know.

So we just came back from St. Lucia which was AMAZEBALLS!!! I’m not sure everyone who saw me singing TLC Waterfalls during karaoke felt the same, but there were zero F’s given on my end. Anyways, by day 3 the only thing I could think was that I WANTED TO PUT ON MY LULAROE LEGGINGS!!! I was also thinking I shouldn’t have had so much Champagne and that I seriously missed my kids. I am officially obsessed.

IMG_9527

If you don’t already have a pair of these glorious leggings, you probably need to get yourself a pair (or 3) right away. like right now. They are insanely comfortable, they don’t stretch out, they aren’t see through, and best of all they are a higher rise which conceals that post-baby sexiness. You know what I’m talking about, ladies.

I’m not going to lie, I was a little hesitant at first due to the crazy prints, but now I am OBSESSED with the prints. I don’t even own a pair of the solid colors. I am the proud owner of leggings with Pineapples all over them.  Aside from the leggings, they have amazing tops, skirts and dresses. I don’t own any of those yet…keyword here being YET.

IMG_9525

They even have them for kids!!!!!! AH!

Lounging around the house? Throw on your LulaRoe. Running to Target? Throw on your LulaRoe. Have a hangover from singling Waterfalls at 1:00AM and traveling for 13 hours? Throw on your LulaRoe.

IMG_9524

These have become the only thing I wear. I looked like one of those crazy dumpster divers 2 weeks ago digging through the laundry because I couldn’t find any of my leggings and it’s the only thing I wanted to put on. Not my finest moment, but they are THAT GOOD.

FullSizeRender

Come on. You know you want to wear insanely bright floral leggings all day everyday.

Mama’s, treat yo-self. Get some of these leggings. You need them.

P.S. I am so obsessed I am hosting an online event with my friend. So…..if you need a reason to shop, CLICK HERE to join next weeks online extravaganza.

Baby Registry: Top 6 picks!

Registering for your baby gear is seriously intense. Your feet are crazy swollen & emotions are all over the place. You had no clue how much crap a tiny baby needed and all you can think about is how bad you have to pee. I was crazy overwhelmed with the process so I wanted to share some of my faves that you can check off your list!

 1. Nuna LEAF

leaf_4_productdetail_740x700_navy_ff

Watch me sleep, now watch me sway sway. I LOVE the Nuna LEAF because it’s neutral and a space saver. This will grow with your child as it’s suitable form birth up to 130 lbs. Like, your butt can totally chill in this seat and watch the RHOBH if you wanted too…just sayin.

Nuna just came out with a great little attachment, the WIND, which allows the LEAF to continuously sway from side to side without your assistance. Sign. Me. Up.

2. UPPAbaby VISTA

uppababy-vista-2015-16

The VISTA is such a great stroller for a growing family. Not only is the VISTA an amazing single stroller, but, it’s a fab double stroller. You can use this from birth all the way up to toddler years. You can even use it will 3 kids if you needed to. The large basket is great for new parents that are lugging all that crap –  um, I mean gear – you need with a newborn!  Trust me on this one and stroll in style…get the VISTA!

3. 4MOMS Breeze

4moms_RedDot_2

This is my faaaave! We use it daily and LOVE. IT. The 4MOMS is SO easy to open and close. It’s literally done with one hand which makes this my favorite playard/travel crib available! The bassinet feature is great and suitable from birth to 18 pounds, while the playard is suitable up to 30 pounds. You also get a nice little travel bag for when you need to take naps on the go! Do yourself a favor and go with the Breeze. I promise you’ll love it!

4. Stokke Tripp Trapp

Tripp Trapp 150416-2679 Hazy Grey BS US_25861

I have the Tripp Trapp on this list for a few reasons, the main one being that this high chair grows with your child and will seriously last you forever. Plus, it looks pretty nice at the dining room table… have you seen the awesome colors it comes in?? Swoon! The Tripp Trapp is easy keep clean and has a couple great accessories to add-on making is the perfect high chair for your growing family.

5. Maxi Cosi Mico AP

maxi-cosi-mico-max-30-car-seat-black-devoted-1

The Maxi-Cosi AP is awesome! It’s currently the lightest infant car seat in its class which is awesome because once that baby hits around 10 lbs, you feel like your lugging around a bag of cement every time you lift a car-seat. A couple other great features on the Maxi-Cosi AP is the updated self-wicking fabric that helps keep baby dry and comfortable, a great canopy to keep baby protected from the sun, and a newborn head insert for a nice snug fit. Oh, and did I mention the fabric is machine washable and dryer safe? SOLD!! On a serious note, this seat is fantastic and SAFE. The LATCH system helps you get a great fit in your car, and the Air Protect Side Impact Technology gives your precious baby the protection they need while in the car.

**Your Car Seat is a major purchase from your registry, and I’m not talking about the price tag. This is what will be keeping your child safe and secure in the event of an accident. PLEASE READ your manual, use the seat as directed, and get with a Certified Passenger Safety Technician to make sure you have the proper installation for your seat/child!   PSA is now over**

6. LILLEbaby Carrier

edited3_3_1

Trust that this NEEDS to be on your Baby Registry. I would not be here today if it wasn’t for baby wearing. LILLEbaby has tons of different carriers so you will definitely find a good fit. I love the Complete All Seasons because baby wearing can get a little sweaty, especially in the Summer. The Complete All Seasons unzips to expose cool, breathable 3-D mesh to help with the heat. There are 6 different carrying position to keep you sane from newborn to crazy toddler years.

Almost everything on this list will get you through newborn to toddlers years, and beyond! My advice to new parents is going to the store, look at all the gear and see what you love. Push the strollers around, fold the playard, ask the sales associate to install the car seat in your car to make sure it’s a good fit! Don’t be afraid to ask questions…you wouldn’t buy a car without test-driving it and the same should go for baby gear 🙂

UPPAbaby G-LINK Review.

G-G-G-G-LINK!!! See what I did there?  That’s about as far as my rapping goes.

Ok. The G-LINK is here!!  Yessss. It’s so good.  I am in love this light-weight double.  It’s got everything you’re looking for, and then some. Are you surprised?   You shouldn’t be.  UPPAbaby never disappoints!  We’ve  been using this for everyday errands and it seriously makes life so much easier.  It’s easy to get in and out of the car 3 or 4 times a day,  folds in two seconds,  and leaves plenty of extra room in the trunk for any Target clearance items! #winning #doublethelove

IMG_6584

The UPPAbaby G-LINK weighs in at just 24.5 pounds,  features independent flat reclines,  a generous 50 lb weight limit per seat,  large extendable canopies, super easy fold,  AND is suitable from birth.  It even comes with two newborn head support inserts and a nifty little mesh foot barrier to keep the peanuts  safe during the mushy baby stage!

The seats on the G-LINK are easily one of my favorite features this ride has to offer.  They are well thought out, and super cozy for the kids.   If you’re using this for newborns, the G-LINK includes 2 plush head support inserts and two mesh foot barriers that are attached under the seat.  The foot barrier is easy to stow away when not in use, and I love that it’s attached. One less accessory you need to keep track of!  Ain’t nobody got time for that with two kids.

IMG_6423

The seat back height is nice and tall  (18″ from the seat to the top of the seat back) and plenty more room from the seat to the top of the canopy (check out the specs below).   A 4/5 year-old could easily ride comfortably in the seats providing they are within the maximum weight limit.  The 5-point  harness straps are easy to adjust, and the clip is nice and secure. Harper is like frickin’ Houdini lately and can’t get out of this harness! hallelujah!

Each leg rest is adjustable, which is a huge plus if you’ve got a toddler, like Brody, who doesn’t need the extra leg support.  I will say though, that feature is so nice to have… We were out shopping the other day and Brody fell asleep in the car between stores.  I managed to do a successful transfer, which we all know winning the Mom Lottery.  I put him in the G-LINK with the seat fully reclined and the leg rest up so he could be extra cozy! Total lifesaver! Adjustable leg rest = must have!

The fabric is plush and super easy to keep clean.  I know this because we had a pretty intense pooplosion at IKEA, like the kind where you just throw everything away and pretend that didn’t just happen,  and the seat looks brand new after I cleaned it!  I may or may not have gasped in horror saying “oh my god, not on my new stroller…” when my Husband showed me the damage… HA! #sewnotfun #ionlyhadfourwipesleft #momfail

Ok, back on track here…The canopies are amazing considering this is an umbrella stroller.  They feature an SPF 50+ extendable sunshade which you all know by now is super important to me.  There is also a nice little peek-a-boo window that gives you a good view of the kiddos, and a pocket on the back that can store anything from your cell phone to the kids snacks. LOVE. IT.

IMG_6425

My absolute favorite feature on the G-LINK is the storage basket.  It’s super happy!

The storage basket has a maximum weight capacity of 10 lbs and is accessible from the back and sides. The best part of the storage basket is that it’s actually easy to access.  Can you imagine?  A storage basket that’s easy to access?  Can I get unanimous, HOLLA!!  Thank you, UPPAbaby.  Thank you.   No one does a storage basket quite like they do.  I can fit two packed Ju-Ju-Be- Super Be’s, the kids coats, and even a few Target goodies or groceries. If you need one reason to justify this purchase to your other half,  let it be that one.  If you are in need of a light-weight double for everyday use, travel,  themes parks, etc. you NEED storage space. Trust me!

IMG_6429

The push is surprisingly pretty good on this little gem.  I was a little nervous at first, but, it really has a decent push. It handles Target VERY well.  And that’s really all that matters, right?

What you need to take into consideration is that the G-LINK is a light-weight double umbrella stroller.  This is not going to have a one-hand push like the Vista or an all-terrain double. It’s not supposed to.  The push is not heavy, and I don’t feel it pull to one side with both kids in it.  It’s very easy to maneuver, and the perfect stroller for errands, traveling, theme parks, etc.  I’ve taken the G-LINK on many walks over bumpy side walks,  dirt,  and yes, even some slush, and have not had an issue.  It gets my stamp of approval!

Last, but not least, the fold.  The G-LINK has a very simple fold (check out my video below to see!). It folds into itself, keeping the fabric protected, and stands while folded. It’s compact, easy to do, and even has a nifty little carry strap if you need to transport it anywhere.   It’s so easy to get in and out of the trunk, and makes those hectic days running errands with both kids so much easier!

**Note- Use the center grey pull to unfold, versus the handles, which could compromise the strength over time.

IMG_6427

Overall,  I am borderline obsessed with the G-LINK.   It’s sturdy enough to handle the beating of everyday use,  comfortable for the kids to nap in,  and offers plenty of storage for all the crap you need with two kiddos!

The list of double umbrella strollers  I recommend is short. Like, really short.  It only has the G-LINK on it…ha! I don’t know if you’ve ever pushed around any other double Umbrella Strollers but it’s kind of a nightmare. They usually have an extra set of wheels in the middle which makes it hard to maneuver, and gets in the way of your stride. The canopies are always lacking, and you usually don’t have any storage space. You don’t have any of those issues with the G-LINK.  Not to mention the quality is perfection.  You get what you pay for…
